Habitats and Population Density

A ecosystem is the large area where all of its living and non living factors come together, whereas a habitat is the place or location where a specific species lives. There are many different habitats within an ecosystem. Woodpeckers use the dead trees to dig out burrows for a nest. The trees in the deciduous forest are home to thousands of insects. The trees also produce berries and seeds that wild turkey like to eat. Small birds, snakes, and rodents are all prey to the hawks and owls. Population is the amount of biotic factors and abiotic factors in a area, whereas population density is the amount of a specific species in an area. The number of  Black Bears in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park which is estimated to inhabit 1,500 bears. Great Smoke Mountain National Park is 816 square miles.
